MR. LAWVIGNEAUD D. HARRELL
OUR PRINCIPAL

Lawvigneaud Harrell
became a proud member of the Morrow Middle School family July 2017. Mr.
Harrell has over seventeen years of experience in education. Before
transitioning to the role of principal, he served as the Assistant
Principal at both Jonesboro High School in Clayton County Public Schools
and Dr. Ronald E. McNair High School in the Dekalb County School
System. His career began as a fifth grade teacher at Southlawn
Elementary School in Montgomery, Alabama. Moreover, he went on to have a
successful teaching career at Peachtree Elementary and Martin Luther
King Elementary.
Mr. Harrell grew
up in Bessemer, Alabama and graduated from Jess Lanier High School
where he was a member of 1990 state championship football team.
Additionally, he was also a state championship weightlifter his senior
year. He received his undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and
Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Alabama State University,
where he was a three year Letterman in football. Mr. Harrell
furthered his education at Troy State University and earned his
Specialist degree in School Leadership.
Mr. Harrell
believes that all students deserve a safe and secure learning
environment where they can receive a high quality education.
Additionally, that rigorous classroom instruction and active engagement
are key to students being successful in school. Lastly, parental
involvement and community support are paramount to ensuring student
success at Morrow Middle School.
Lastly, Mr.
Harrell is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. During his free time,
he enjoys serving his church in different leadership capacities and
spending time with his two wonderful children Braylen and Kiera.
