Mrs. Jones is the Chorus Director at Morrow Middle School. Her responsibilities include directing the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Choral ensembles, sponsoring the Anime Club, and leading the Yearbook Team. Mrs. Jones is working towards creating a comprehensive music program at Morrow Middle School.
Mrs. Jones is a Georgia native and graduated from Winder Barrow High School in Barrow County. She attended Columbus State University and obtained a Certificate in Servant Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education Degree with honors. While at CSU she was a member of the Clarinet Studio, the Composition Studio, the Servant Leadership Program, the Honors College, the Momentum Editorial Board, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Collegiate National Association for Music Education. She was also the founding director of the community choir Et Cantorum a Meridies.
During her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Jones studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata City, Japan. She has continued her Japanese studies since then and is bilingual. Mrs. Jones is dedicated to Morrow Middle School's mission of fostering language studies and developing global citizens.
Mrs. Jones also attended the University of Georgia, where she obtained a Master of Music in Education degree and graduated with distinction. While at UGA, Mrs. Jones marched as a member of the Redcoat Marching Band and presented her original research in the fields of Music Education and Musicology and co-authored a research article that was published in a Music Therapy research journal. Mrs. Jones is also a member of the Atlanta CV Drum and Bugle Corps and has performed as a member of the hornline and front ensemble.
