Mr. Charles Epps
School Counselor

Greetings to All,
I am Charles Epps the 6th and 7th grade School Counselor here at MMS and I would like to take a little time to share some information about my education and professional background. I began my undergraduate education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. However, I left school before graduating and served one enlistment in the U.S. Army as an X-Ray Technician/field medic. After leaving the Army I returned to Winston-Salem State University where I earned my BA in Psychology. Thereafter, I moved here to Georgia to attend Argosy University. While enrolled at the Atlanta Campus I studied Psychology/Counseling and then transferred to the Sarasota Campus to complete my Guidance and Counseling education courses. After graduating from Argosy with a MA in Guidance and Counseling I spent approximately 12 years working as a therapist in multiple setting with both children and adults. During this time I worked to obtain: associate and full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, several certifications in substance abuse counseling, national certifications as a Professional Counselor, and two certifications as a Counseling Supervisor. I have professional therapeutic experience in areas such as: children and adolescents, conduct disorder, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, trauma, and eating disorders. The 2020-2021 school year will be my second year here at MMS and I am so looking forward to working closely with everyone in the Bobcat family! This year the MMS Counseling Department’s focus will be on “Happiness despite COVID-19,” “Digital Citizenship,” and “Social Emotional Learning.” Let’s have a great year Bobcats!
